RAJNI BALA’S KIN BLAME KULGAM CHIEF EDUCATION OFFICER FOR HER DEATH

Two days after 36-year-old migrant Kashmiri Pandit and high school teacher Rajni Bala was killed by terrorists in Kulgam district on Tuesday, her family said that had the authorities acted in time on her request of a transfer from Gopalpura school to another school, she could have been alive today. The family has accused the chief education Officer of Kulgam district for not paying heed to Rajni Bala’s repeated requests for a transfer as she had apprehensions that Gopalpura was not safe for her.

In a letter written to the chief education officer of Kulgam district, exclusively accessed by The Daily Guardian Review, Rajni Bala had requested twice to the CEO for her transfer as the school and locality in Gopalpura was not safe.

While speaking to The Daily Guardian Review, Rajni Bala’s husband Rajkumar said: “Today my wife would have been alive had the CEO listen to her request. We approached him at least four times after the killing of Rahul Bhat in Budgam. However, the CEO paid no heed to our request. My wife has died because of inefficiency and arrogance of the CEO. He should be held accountable and punished for this.”

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir administration and LG Manoj Sinha decided that all the Kashmiri Pandit government employees and employees from the minority community working in Kashmir should be shifted to safer locations before June 6.
