In Rajasthan, the government is working diligently to promote animal husbandry. Several initiatives are being undertaken in this regard, including the organisation of the ‘Cattle Farmers Recognition Ceremony.’ During this event, notable livestock farmers in the field of animal husbandry will be selected and honoured at the state, district, and panchayat committee levels. According to Animal Husbandry Minister Lalchand Kataria, participants must register their names for this event by 30 November, with their respective district offices or joint directors of the nearby veterinary institution.
Lalchand Kataria mentioned that for this competition, one livestock farmer will be honoured from each of the 355 panchayat committees, and two livestock farmers will be recognized from each of the total 48 districts, including the newly formed ones, making a total of 453 cattle farmers to receive cash incentives amounting to 60.50 lakhs INR. The progressive livestock farmers honoured at the state level will receive Rs 50,000, at the district level Rs 25,000, and at the panchayat committee level Rs 10,000.
The selection of cattle farmers to be honoured at the state level will be conducted by a committee chaired by the Chief Secretary of the Animal Husbandry Department, while at the district level, it will be carried out by the District Collector and Magistrate, and at the panchayat committee level by the Block Development Officer. Departmental officials have been instructed to send the final list of selected cattle farmers at the panchayat committee and district levels by 31 December.
