Rajasthan gears up for Diwali amidst upcoming assembly polls

Nowadays, Rajasthan is full of excitement about the assembly elections. Along with the elections, Diwali preparations are also underway in the markets of Jaipur’s Rajwada city. Rajasthan witnesses the grandeur of Diwali, with guests coming from all over the country and abroad. Every year, Diwali in Rajasthan shines brightly. This time, once again, Rajasthan’s assembly elections and Diwali are in the same month, with Diwali falling on 12 November and the election date on 25 November.
All business organisations will be closed on 25 November as the Jaipur Traders Association will celebrate Loktantra Divas (Democracy Day). However, due to the Model Code of Conduct, businesses are facing increased troubles.
Businessmen are facing problems due to the MCC
In front of Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph, traders have also raised their problems. Suresh Saini, Senior Vice President of Jaipur Traders Association, said that Diwali is the biggest festival for traders, but at present, due to the ongoing election, there is a lack of administration.
It is worth noting that important decisions were taken in the meeting held in the Chamber Building of Jaipur Traders Association on Tuesday regarding Diwali and Mahaparva of Democracy. During this, Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph and Jaipur District Council Executive Officer Shweta Singh were also present, in front of whom the businessmen presented the issue of security, parking, and incidents happening in the market being halted.
The officers of the Mansarovar Business Association said, “There is no significant difference in the Mansarovar market this time. Although there are elections this time, parties are not buying anything special from the Mansarovar market. Diwali shopping is normal this time. These days, the trend is online. At the same time, due to the imposition of the Model Code of Conduct, the money of the people is stuck in one place. Some people have so many loans that they will not make any special purchases.”
Greater Municipal Corporation will honour Market associations for Diwali decorations
On Diwali, Heritage Nagar Municipal Corporation will also illuminate the city’s attractive lights. Preparation for this has started. But keeping the elections in mind, the Greater Municipal Corporation of Jaipur has also made business associations active. Market associations will be honoured for decorating the markets with excellent decorations and lights. For this, orders have been issued by Mayor Dr. Soumya Gurjar.
