The Congress government of Rajasthan has been threatening the BJP ministers who have raised their voices against illegal mining and not ensuring the safety of the seers in the state. Several BJP MPs, including Arun Singh, have hit out at the Congress government of Rajasthan for mocking the death of seer Vijay Das.

Speaking to TDG, Swami Sumedhanand Saraswati, a member of LS, said, “The government has threatened us that if we continue to raise our voices, we will face ugly consequences.”

During the press conference, BJP MP Arun Singh said, “The sacrifice of Vijay Das ji should not go in vain. He sacrificed his life for the safety of the environment and to protect its cultural heritage. He, along with other seers, agitated for 551 days.”

The BJP government has demanded a CBI probe against illegal mining along with the four-member committee and NGT. The committee led by BJP president JP Nadda had also visited Bharatpur to look into the seer’s death. He claimed that the Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government had been harassing the seers of Bharatpur and Alwar, and continued, “The government has been harassing the saints on TV and social media.

This has led Vijay Das Ji to commit suicide, and now the government is openly registering an FIR against other seers and villagers.”

On July 23, Baba Vijay Das set himself on fire. He was immediately transported to Jaipur for medical attention before being transferred to Delhi, where he passed away.
