Rajasthan braces for intensifying cold from December 18

In Mount Abu, the hill station of the state, the minimum temperature was recorded at -1 degrees Celsius for the fourth consecutive day. On Thursday morning, light clouds were observed in the sky in the Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Bikaner belt. Most cities experienced a minimum temperature on Thursday similar to the previous day. Meteorologists suggest that the weather is likely to remain the same in the state for the next four days, but from December 18, temperatures will start dropping in Rajasthan and several states in central India. The cold is expected to intensify.
Except for northern Rajasthan districts, the sky is clear in the rest of the state on Thursday. Sunlight has been present since morning. The minimum temperature in Jaipur, Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Kota on Thursday remained the same as the previous day. In Udaipur, there was a decrease of about one degree Celsius in the temperature on Thursday, bringing the minimum temperature to 8.9 degrees Celsius. Udaipur experienced light fog in the morning on Thursday, but the weather cleared up as the sun rose. Apart from Udaipur, in Dungarpur, the temperature on Thursday dropped to 10.9 degrees, making it the lowest temperature of the season.
On Thursday, the minimum night temperature in 14 cities of Rajasthan dropped to single digits. This includes cities like Mount Abu, Bhilwara, Alwar, Pilani, Sikar, Udaipur, Baran, Sirohi, Fatehpur, Karauli, Jaisalmer, Churu, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Jalore.
Meteorologists believe that the middle of the next week will witness a significant increase in cold in the state. This is because a western disturbance will bring snowfall to the hilly states (Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh) from December 16 to 18. This system will move ahead on the 18th, and from December 19-20, chilly winds from northern India will begin. These cold winds will cause a drop in temperature in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan, along with western Uttar Pradesh, eastern Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat in the northern regions, leading to an increase in cold weather.
