Punjab unveils bold vision at PITEX: Boosting tourism and investments

Anmol Gagan Mann, Punjab’s Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Investment Promotion, officially inaugurated the 17th Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX) organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry today. During the event, he stated that the government’s top priority is to develop eco-tourism, adventure, water sports, and tourism in Punjab. The efforts being made by the government in these areas will yield exemplary results in the future. Minister Anmol Gagan Mann addressed businesspersons from India and abroad on this occasion, emphasizing that the current government in Punjab is the first-ever people’s government. Such facilities were never provided to industrialists before.The Cabinet Minister mentioned that a special plan has been prepared for the improvement of focal points in Punjab, involving an expenditure of 1,150 crores to revitalize these focal points. Under this plan, improvements in focal points in Punjab are benefiting industrialists. Due to the pro-industry policies of the Punjab government, several major industrial houses have already established their industries in the state, and Punjab has attracted an investment of 60,000 crores in just two years. He stated that the entire capacity of the tourism sector in Punjab is being developed to allow Punjabis residing abroad, foreign tourists, and people from various sectors in India to experience the historical and tourist destinations and heritage aspects of Punjab.
Minister Anmol Mann mentioned that PITEX has played a crucial role in aligning with our vision of increasing tourism and promoting investment growth in Punjab. Such events are invaluable platforms for marketing, networking, and building partnerships that contribute to Punjab’s economic development. Currently, industries in Punjab are being provided with the cheapest electricity, and the opportunities given by the government for business have never been seen before. He urged industrialists to collaborate with the government to bring Punjab on track.
Bollywood actor Jimmy Sheirgill emphasized the necessity of promoting women entrepreneurship for women’s empowerment. He stated that when women are self-reliant, the path to the development of the country and the state becomes easier. Jimmy Sheirgill was present at the inauguration of PITEX, organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday.
