A Punjab Police Special Task Force (STF) arrested one Lakbhir Sigh alias Lakha with a “Chinese-made drone, 1.6 kg of heroin, a pistol, and a rifle,” Amritsar Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Snehdeep Sharma said.
He added that Lakha had been smuggling drugs and weapons from Pakistan for a “long time” and “revealed his contacts with Pakistani smugglers.”
While further investigation is underway, the AIG confirmed that the nabbed drone had been used to bring illicit goods across the border.
On Monday, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot down a Pakistani drone carrying narcotics along the international border in Amritsar and two packets suspected to be heroin were recovered.
