Punjab’s Minister for Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training, Aman Arora, has directed officials to form a working group to finalize the state’s skill training scheme. Arora addressed training partners during an open house discussion session regarding the proposed State Skill Training Scheme and Multi-Skill Development Centers at the PEDA complex. He highlighted that the scheme aims to provide training to candidates from economically weaker sections, students from government schools, colleges, universities, ITIs, Polytechnics, Multi-Skill Development Centers (MSDCs), Health Skill Development Centers (HSDCs), and rural skill centers for a duration ranging from two months to a year. Arora emphasized the need to align courses with industrial requirements and design programs that bridge the gap between industry needs and skilled personnel. The minister sought suggestions from stakeholders and training partners to improve the proposed skill training scheme. Jaspreet Talwar, Principal Secretary, Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training, welcomed the input from stakeholders and training partners.
