Punjab government to conduct dry run of corona vaccination in all districts

The Punjab Government is going to conduct a dry run of corona vaccination in all districts of the State from today. It was disclosed by the Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu on Thursday.

The Health Minister said that as per guidelines of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare GoI, COVID 19 vaccination dry run will be conducted on Friday, 8 January 2021. He said that in the first phase, healthcare workers would be vaccinated at District Hospitals, Sub Divisional Hospitals and Community Health Centres and Private hospitals in districts. Data of total 1,57,020 Health care workers has been uploaded on the portal.

Sidhu said that 100 percent of session sites have been identified as per the micro plan and all sites have COVID appropriate behaviors IEC (Information, Education and Communication) displayed so as to provide required guidance to the beneficiaries. He said that special training has also been imparted to the medical and para-medical staff for the dry run of corona vaccination.

To manage the injection waste, functional hub cutter and disposal bags have also been made available at all sites. District & Block level Task Force teams would monitor the vaccination drive under the supervision of State Task Force.
