Turmoil escalates in Punjab Congress as MP Ravneet Singh Bittu issues a significant statement regarding senior party leader Navjot Singh Sidhu. Bittu asserts that the party high command should swiftly make a decision on this matter. While addressing journalists at his residence in Ludhiana, MP Ravneet Bittu expresses concern that the Congress incurred significant losses in the 2022 Assembly elections and emphasizes the urgency of preventing a recurrence. Party workers also advocate for a prompt resolution in this matter, stating that indiscipline cannot be tolerated.
However, the MP clarifies that there will be no alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab, affirming that the party will contest on all 13 parliamentary seats in the state.
While a pact under the ‘India’ banner might be possible in Chandigarh and Delhi, it is not feasible in Punjab. Responding to the threat issued by pro-Khalistan supporter Gurpatwant Singh Pannu against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Bittu dismisses Pannu’s credibility, challenging him to demonstrate his courage in Punjab if he has the audacity to do so.
