Vijoy Kumar Singh, IAS (1990), has been designated as the Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, following his appointment to the Government of Punjab.
The Punjab government released an official statement confirming this development. In a recent meeting held in Ludhiana, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann discussed matters pertaining to the NRI Affairs Department with the department officials.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of addressing the issues faced by NRIs and also suggested showcasing unexplored areas of Punjab to them.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister announced the upcoming establishment of the Punjab Assistance Center at Delhi International Airport, which aims to provide facilities and assistance to Punjabis.
In a post on X, Mann stated, “Today, we conducted a meeting with the officers of the NRI Affairs Department in Ludhiana and launched a new website, http://nri.punjab.gov.in, to address the problems encountered by NRIs. Additionally, it was decided that starting from February 3, NRIs will be warmly welcomed in Punjab. I have instructed the department to not only resolve the issues faced by NRIs but also to introduce them to the lesser-known areas of Punjab. Moreover, we are in the process of establishing the Punjab Assistance Centre at Delhi International Airport to cater to the needs of Punjabis.”
