Punjab farmers are en route to Delhi with tractor-trolleys, while tensions brew at the Shambhu Border between farmers and Haryana police. Police deployed tear gas shells in their bid to dismantle farmers’ barricades, heightening the confrontation. Amidst this, the Punjab government issued a significant declaration, with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reaffirming steadfast support for the farmers.
Keeping the farmers’ protest in mind, the Punjab Chief Minister alerted hospitals near the Haryana Border to increase the number of ambulances. Doctors and staff were advised to stay in hospitals. CM Mann stated that many farmers are being seriously injured in Police action and require immediate treatment; thus, he urged hospitals in Sangrur, Patiala, Dera Bassi, Mansa, and Bathinda to be on alert. During this time, Mann also demanded from the Haryana Government to refrain from lathi charges and firing tear gas shells on farmers.
