The Punjab And Haryana High Court stayed the ongoing demolition drive in Nuh, which is being followed by the communal clashes.
The bench comprising of Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia in the case observed and has stayed the demolition until further orders.
It has also been alleged before the court that the demolition drive to raze the alleged illegal constructions has been ongoing in Nuh since August 3, 2023, without any prior notice issued to the occupants.
The court observed that the said authorities have reportedly demolished several ‘illegal’ shanties, temporary shops and certain concrete structures, wherein it is alleged belongings to persons involved in communal violence which happened last week.
The counsel, Advocate Mohammad Arshad, appeared for the victims.
