A man was detained by Pune Police for reportedly killing a one-and-a-half-year-old child in Pimpri Chinchwad by submerging him in a bucket of boiling water.
The youngster was allegedly immersed in boiling water on April 6 by a guy named Vikram Kolekar, according to senior inspector Vaibhav Shingare. The accused had a relationship with Kiran, the 20-year-old mother of the toddler. According to the officer, Kiran rejected the accused’s marriage proposal despite his desire to wed her. He killed the youngster out of wrath after being rejected, the officer claimed.
“A woman saw the accused person committing the crime but did not report it because she was scared,” Shingare said.
The police stated that the suspect was detained as a result of a complaint. “The witness, who saw Vikram committing the horrific act, briefed his mother on the actual reason behind the child’s death,” the officer added.
