Disability is not a curse; it is a challenge. When any imperfection exists in God’s creation, it manifests itself as some other talent or skill. Principal Saroj Devi expressed these views during a counseling and awareness camp focusing on the proper education of disabled students at Government Model Culture Senior Secondary School, Raipurrani.
Principal Saroj Devi presided over the two-day awareness program organized under the aegis of the Haryana School Education Project Council, Panchkula. Thirty teachers from the block, 25 student-parents, and 5 SMC members participated in the awareness program. During the counseling and awareness program, master trainers Babita, Inmeet Kaur, Aarti Sharma, and Anil Kumar conveyed essential messages to disabled students, parents, teachers, and SMC members. They highlighted the crucial roles of parents and teachers in the educational and vocational guidance of children with special needs.
Parents can create a suitable home environment for the child’s development, while teachers can assist in selecting the child’s educational and vocational paths based on their interests, aptitudes, and specific abilities. Identifying the capabilities of disabled children is crucial, and they should receive proper guidance. Master Trainer Babita also shed light on the biography of Louis Braille and his significant contributions to the education of disabled children.
