The principal has been convicted in the case of sexual exploitation of more than 50 girl students of a government school in Jind, Haryana. This has been revealed in the panel report of the committee constituted by DC to investigate. In this case, a student has also committed suicide.
The victim was a class 11 student in the same school. The investigation against the principal was initiated due to a letter written by some of the victims on August 31. However, the family members of the student who committed suicide have refused to give their statement in this matter.
According to sources, the girl, who belonged to a weaker section of the society, had hanged herself in a room on the first floor of her house after returning from school on September 30. The family claimed that they were shocked and cremated the body.
An officer who visited the victim’s house after the incident revealed that her mother had denied seeing any signs of stress or depression in her in the days before her death. Jind police officials say that there were rumors of three incidents of suicide by girl students, the police did not find any such case.
Police officers investigating this case say that some girls have testified before the magistrate under section 164 of the IPC. The police have enough evidence to present a challan against the suspect in the court.
The principal was arrested on November 4 after a case was registered under sections 8 (sexual assault), 10 (aggravated sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act and sections 354, 341 and 342 of the IPC. He is currently in judicial custody. Police have seized his mobile phone and sent it for forensic examination.
