In anticipation of the upcoming influenza season, the Health Department has proactively arranged preventive measures. Concerned about the rising risk of influenza, which affects children aged 0 to 5 and adults above 65 the most, health officials have taken several steps to safeguard the community. With the winter season approaching, parents and guardians often worry about their children and the elderly falling victim to common illnesses like influenza. To address this concern, the Health Department has established a special ward with five beds to cater specifically to influenza patients. This proactive approach aims to ensure that prompt medical attention is provided to those suffering from symptoms such as cold, fever, cough, and abdominal pain before complications arise.Providing insights into this initiative, Dr. Satishe Goel from SMO Bathinda Civil Hospital highlighted that the risk of influenza and COVID-19 increases during the winter season. In accordance with the guidelines issued by the Punjab government, a separate ward with five beds has been allocated for influenza patients. Dr. Goel emphasized that common symptoms like fever, cough, and abdominal pain are prevalent before the onset of influenza. If anyone experiences these symptoms, they are advised to seek immediate medical attention at the Civil Hospital to receive timely and effective treatment.
