The President of India Ram Nath Kovind is on a three-day visit to Goa. Upon arrival, he was received by Goa Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Goa Assembly Speaker Rajesh Patnekar, Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho and Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat.
In a tweet, the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, ‘’Extended a warm welcome to the Hon’ble President Shri Ram Nath Kovind ji, on his arrival at Dabolim Airport.’’
The President will present the President’s Colour to the Indian Naval Aviation at a function at INS Hansa at Dabolim on September 6, 2021.
The Indian Navy was the first amongst the Indian Armed Forces to be awarded the President’s Colour on 27 May 1951 by Dr Rajendra Prasad, the then President of India.
“President Kovind will attend the presentation of the ‘President’s Colour’ to the naval aviation, coinciding with the diamond jubilee celebration of the INS Hansa on September 6,” the information department had earlier said in a statement. Also, during the occasion, a special day cover will be released by the postal department.
