President Droupadi Murmu to inaugurate the 37th International Surajkund Crafts Fair on February 2

President of India Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the 37th International Surajkund Crafts Fair on February 2. Apart from this, Vice President Sh Jagdeep Dhankhar will attend the fair on February 3. Sinha informed this during a meeting with officials, discussing the comprehensive preparations for the 37th International Craft Fair scheduled to commence on February 2 in the Surajkund, Faridabad. Divulging more information regarding, MD Singh , principal secretary, tourism department said that this year, 40 countries will actively participate, with ambassadors from numerous nations joining the fair on various occasions. The global representation adds a unique and diverse dimension to the 37th International Surajkund Crafts Fair. The upcoming 37th International Surajkund Crafts Fair will be organized in Faridabad on a more grand scale compared to previous years. In light of this, meticulous preparations for the fair are underway.

MD Sinha further mentioned that the upcoming fair will witness a higher participation of foreign artists and guests. He disclosed that over 1000 stalls have been meticulously prepared, ensuring the same number of craftsmen will actively participate. Anticipating a significant increase in attendance, he emphasized the need for top-notch facilities, including cleanliness, road arrangements, lighting, electricity provisions, and toilets. Clear directives have been issued to all relevant departments in this regard, with Mr. Sinha instructing officials to ensure timely completion of all preparations.

For enhanced security measures, the police department will formulate a dedicated security plan for the fair. A notable addition includes the installation of 100 additional cameras, bringing the total to 350, to boost security during the event. Detailed instructions have been provided to concerned departments on various aspects, encompassing issues such as parking arrangements within the fairgrounds. To ensure heightened security, the entire Mela complex will be monitored by high-speed CCTV cameras. The fair will commence at 10:00 AM and conclude at 8:00 PM. In an effort to enhance visitor experience and streamline operations, an app will be developed to track daily tourist numbers, monitor parking availability, facilitate ticket booking, and manage other arrangements. Notably, this year’s fair will feature more stalls than the previous edition. Commissioner of Police Rakesh Arya, District Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh, Tourism Department MD Neeraj Kumar, GM Tourism US Bhardwaj and officials of all departments were present in the meeting.
