Pradyuman Singh has assumed the role of Additional Excise and Taxation Commissioner cum Collector Excise, succeeding IAS officer Rupesh Kumar. A member of HCS (Haryana Civil Service), Singh concurrently manages responsibilities as CTU Director in Chandigarh UT and Secretary in RLA.
Emphasising a commitment to combat illegal liquor trade, Singh has already directed the formation of teams for this purpose. Stringent measures include a ban on the unauthorized sale of foreign liquor in city hotels, a practice causing significant financial losses to the administration.
Singh intends to assign specific areas to officers for better efficiency in tackling illegal liquor sales within the city and surrounding regions. To enforce these measures, collaboration with the police is planned to tighten control over the illicit liquor trade.
