Power Grid inks MoU with Cancer hospital, donates CT scanner under CSR

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) formalized an MoU on January 12, 2024, with Tata Memorial Centre, Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (HBCHRC), New Chandigarh, Punjab. The agreement, falling under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), entails POWERGRID providing a 128-Slice Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner.

Shri Vinod P. Baxla, General Manager (HR) of POWERGRID, and Dr. Ashish Gulia, Director of HBCHRC, signed the MoU in the presence of Sh. A.H. Khan, Sr. GM (Punjab & Haryana) from POWERGRID, senior hospital doctors, and officials.

POWERGRID’s CSR initiative allocates funds amounting to 6.5 Cr. for the CT Scanner’s procurement. HBCHRC will utilize these funds to acquire the advanced medical equipment, benefiting patients with more effective diagnostic and treatment services. This initiative aligns with POWERGRID’s commitment to enhancing health infrastructure in the Northern Region.
Expressing gratitude, the Director of HBCHRC thanked POWERGRID for their CSR involvement and the valuable contribution to the hospital’s infrastructure.

POWERGRID, a Maharatna Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, has a robust track record of supporting various infrastructure projects across India, including in Punjab. The company focuses on inter-state bulk power transmission and boasts extensive transmission lines, substations, and transformation capacity.
