There is proof that it was built between the seventh and ninth centuries. The neighbourhood surrounding the temple is sometimes referred to as Badrinath. Thousands of devotees gathered at the temple to witness the grand opening and waited to enter the shrine.The Chardham Yatra began from Yamunotri Dham on the auspicious occasion of Akshay Tritiya, and the first group of pilgrims left Haridwar for it on Saturday.
The Kedarnath Dham portals were opened earlier on Tuesday, and the first puja was conducted in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The puja was done by Rawal Bhimashankar Linga and Pujari Shivling and Dharmacharyas.
Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, stated on Tuesday that every attempt has been made to make the Chardham Yatra simple and secure for pilgrims. “Every possible effort has been made to make the Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand easy and safe. Additionally, social organisations and volunteer groups have offered the yatra their full support. Based on the previous years’ experience, work has been done to advance the travel arrangements”, the CM said.
“Yatra is proceeding smoothly in Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham,” he continued. Lord Badri Vishal’s doors will also be opened on April 27 for pilgrims to have a look-see.
Flowers were showered on the devotees by helicopter per the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s orders. When the doors of Kedarnath Dham were opened, Chief Minister Dhami prayed there and wished for the happiness and prosperity of the nation and the state. The chief minister also welcomed the devotees, who had arrived to have darshan of Baba Kedar.
Later, he took part in a Bhandara (food distribution project) sponsored by the Mukhya Sevak on the temple premises.
The Uttarakhand government reports that more than 17 lakh people have registered for the Chardham Yatra as of this point.One of the most well-known Hindu pilgrimages in India is the Char Dham Yatra, which takes place in Uttarakhand. Four sacred locations located in the Himalayas, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, are visited during this pilgrimage.
