Police foils counterfeit currency ring in Bikaner

The Bikaner district police in Rajasthan have arrested two businessmen from Khajuwala in possession of sixty thousand rupees in counterfeit notes. The accused individuals had obtained fake currency amounting to 1.65 lakh rupees from Jaipur. Upon their apprehension, one accused burned approximately 1 lakh rupees in counterfeit notes.
Acting on information provided by the Jhunjhunu police, the Bikaner police successfully detained both suspects.
Station Officer Rampratap Verma of Khajuwala explained that they received a tip from an informant regarding the transportation of counterfeit notes. Responding to this information, the police established a checkpoint at Rajiv Circle Chauraha Khajuwala. During the checkpoint operation, two individuals were found waiting for a bus near the new building of the central school on Raula Road, and counterfeit notes were discovered in their bags. The police arrested Ramnand Parik (45) from Ward No. 17, Khajuwala, and Ramesh Jat (47) from Ward No. 2, Chamariya Colony, Khajuwala, seizing 60,000 rupees.
The investigation revealed that Ramnand possessed 36,000 rupees in counterfeit notes, consisting of 180 notes of 200 rupees each, while Ramesh Kumar had 24,000 rupees, comprising 48 notes of 500 rupees each.
