Punjab police stated that they had prevented planned target killings by apprehending four operatives following an exchange of gunfire on Saturday.
Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, announced on his social media platform X that the police also seized six pistols during the operation.
“In a major breakthrough, Jalandhar Commissionerate Police averts planned target killings with the arrest of 4 operatives of Prema Lahoria -Vicky Gounder Gang after an exchange of fire. Recovery of six pistols,” DGP Yadav said.
In January 2018, Punjab’s most-wanted criminal Harjinder Singh Bhullar, also known as Vicky Gounder, and his associate Prema Lahoriya were killed in a police encounter in a village near the Punjab-Rajasthan border, according to reports.
