Police attach properties of alleged terror handlers in Baramulla, J&K

In a significant move aimed at curbing terrorism, the police on Tuesday announced the attachment of properties belonging to seven alleged terror handlers based in Pakistan, situated in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to police statements released on Tuesday, an attachment order was obtained from the Additional Sessions Court, Baramulla, leading to the attachment of properties, spanning 13 Kanals of land and valued at lakhs, purportedly owned by these terror handlers based across the border.

“The action, executed under sections of 88 CRPC, is connected with case FIR No.04/2008 u/s 2/3 EIMCO Act, 121 RPC, 7/25 IA Act, 13 UA (P) Act of PS Kreeri,” the police elaborated.

The identification of the properties linked to terror handlers transpired during the course of investigations and inquiries conducted by the police, further stated the authorities.
The alleged Pakistan-based handlers have been identified as Shabir Ahmad Sofi, hailing from Sheikhpora; Ghulam Nabi Alaie from Waripora Payeen; Ghulam Nabi Sheikh from Warpora Bala; Sharief ud din Chopan and Gulla Sheikh from Reshipora Authoora; Mohammad Rafiq Khan from Saloosa; and Abdul Hameed Parray from Frasthar Tilgam.
“This operation underscores the unwavering commitment of the Police to combat terrorism and its associated activities,” emphasized police officials, highlighting the significance of such measures in safeguarding peace and security in the region.
