PO staff arrested 04 fugitives including one PO

In Chandigarh, a Post Office (PO) and summons staff were arrested, with four individuals declared criminals/fugitives, including one PO. Hariom Sharma, Inspector/In-charge of the PO and Summons staff, provided information stating that in one case, fugitive Dharambir, also known as Brass and residing in a slum near Gurudwara, Patiala Road, Zirakpur, Mohali, Punjab, from village Bair Majra, police station Lalru, district Mohali, was apprehended at the Moli Jagra police station. He was arrested in connection with a case and had been declared a PO by the court. Dharambir was then presented before the respective Honorable Court. Additionally, he was implicated in four other cases of motor vehicle theft, robbery, dacoity, and burglary in UT Chandigarh. Currently, two more cases are pending against him in court.

In another case, PO Manish, son of Mahinder and resident of Sector-45, Village Burail, Chandigarh, was arrested for a snatching incident at Police Station 34. Despite a case being registered against him, he absconded from court proceedings and was declared a fugitive. Manish was then presented before the relevant court.

Further, PO Anil Kumar, son of Rajinder Councilor and resident of Teen Colony, Sector 52, Chandigarh, was arrested under the Excise Act by Police Station 34. He was deemed a criminal by the court and subsequently presented before the appropriate authorities. Additionally, a non-bailable warrant was executed in another case along with the arrest of the accused.

Lastly, accused Varinder Kumar, resident of Street No. 02, Ghumman Nagar, Patiala, Punjab, had a non-bailable warrant issued against him by the court. He was then presented before the relevant court
