On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest at the Valedictory Session and Award Ceremony of the 16th “Civil Services Day”. The event will start at 11 a.m. Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhavan in the national capital. The Prime Minister will address the event at 11: 40 am. He will also communicate with the civil servants. According to a release from the government, the first address at the event will be given by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (MoS), at 11: 10 am. The Prime Minister will give the awards at 11:25 am.

Every year on April 21, “Civil Services Day” is observed to honor the efforts of all the work of all the officers engaged in different public service departments in the country. According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Modi has constantly appreciated the contribution of civil servants towards nation-building and enthused them to work even harder. The program will serve as an apt platform for the Prime Minister to motivate and inspire civil servants across the country so that they may keep serving the nation with the same zeal.

PM Modi will also present the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration as well. These have been instituted with a view to recognize the exceptional and innovative work done by districts and organizations of the federal and state governments for the benefit of regular citizens.

Awards for outstanding work will be given in four priority programs that have been identified: the promotion of Swachh Jal through the Har Ghar Jal Yojana; the promotion of Swasth Bharat through health and wellness centers; the promotion of quality education with an equitable and inclusive classroom environment through Samagra Shiksha; and the promotion of holistic development through the Aspirational District Programme – overall progress with a focus on saturation approach.
