On the sidelines of the G20 Summit, which will take place on September 9–10 under India’s Presidency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with more than 15 world leaders bilaterally, according to sources. According to sources, PM Modi will meet with his counterparts from Bangladesh and Mauritius in person at Lok Kalyan Marg on September 8. Additionally, he will meet privately with US Vice President Joe Biden.
On September 9, Prime Minister Modi will meet separately with the Prime Ministers of Japan, Fumio Kishida, and the UK, Rishi Sunak. He will have a private meeting with Giorgia Meloni, his Italian counterpart. In addition, the Prime Minister and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will meet in private. On September 10, PM Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron will meet for a working lunch. He will meet privately with Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada. According to sources, he will meet separately with the leaders of the Comoros, Turkey, South Korea, UAE, Nigeria, Brazil, the European Union, and the European Council.
On September 9–10, India will host the G20 Leaders Summit at the recently opened Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. International dignitaries have begun to arrive in India for the G20 Summit. The European Council President Charles Michel, the President of Argentina, Alberto Angel Fernandez, the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and a number of other world leaders have already arrived in India for the G20 Summit.
The G20 Summit is being held for the first time while India is in the presidency. The G20 was established in 1999 with the goal of preserving global financial stability by including middle-income nations. On December 1 of last year, India took over as G20 president, and 60 cities across the nation hosted 200 G20 meetings. The culmination of all G20 processes and meetings among ministers, senior officials, and civil societies will take place at the 18th G20 Summit in New Delhi.
