Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, and Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankar on Sunday paid floral tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on his Birth Anniversary at his memorial Sadaiv Atal.
PM Modi tweeted saying, “Tributes to Atal Ji on his Jayanti. His contribution to India is indelible. His leadership and vision motivate millions of people,”
Vajpayee was India’s Prime Minister from May 16, 1996, to June 1, 1996, and again from March 19, 1998, to May 22, 2004. From 1977 to 1979, he was India’s External Affairs Minister in Prime Minister Moraji Desai’s cabinet. On August 16, 2018, he died at the AIIMS hospital in Delhi.
December 25th is also celebrated as ‘Good Governance Day’ in honor of the former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna recipient.
