Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to present 41st Lokmanya Tilak Memorial Trust Award in Pune on August 1 on the occasion of death anniversary of Bal Gangadhar Tilak, said Dr Rohit Tilak, grandson of Bal Gangadhar Tilak. On that occasion, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar will be the chief guest.
As the two stalwarts will share the stage, it assumes huge political significance, especially after the scathing attack on the NCP by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This meeting draws importance after split in NCP by Ajit Pawar and joining the Eknath Shinde-BJP Government.
Earlier in 2015, on the Valentine day, Prime Minister visited Baramati on the invitation of Sharad Pawar where Narendra Modi had said it is a routine affair for him to speak to Sharad Pawar at least thrice a month and seek his advice on various issues. Sharad Pawar to me is like a Political guru, Modi said.
Maratha strongman Sharad Pawar is facing a split in his own family with his nephew Ajit Pawar challenging his uncle by running away with more than 30 MLAs, thus leaving him in lurch.
