PM Modi likely to inaugurate Atal Tunnel in Himachal Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate Atal Tunnel on Leh-Manali highway in Himachal Pradesh’s Rohtang on 3rd October 3, said Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur
on Monday.

According to the tentative programme, the PM will come to Manali on October 3 for inaugurating the Tunnel and will also visit Lahaul, Thakur said.

Responding to a question during an informal chat with the media here, the CM said it is not yet decided if the Prime Minister will address a public rally in Lahaul that day.

The construction of the Atal Tunnel connecting Manali with Leh, which is the world’s longest highway tunnel above 10,000 feet, has been completed in a span of 10 years whereas the original estimated time was less than six years.
