PM Modi lambasts Congress for its appeasement policy against terrorists

Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed Congress on Tuesday on the security issue and claimed that the party has a “history of appeasing terrorists.”

PM Mode further added that the Bharatiya Janata Party has “broken the back” of terror and appeasement, in contrast to the Congress, which had left Karnataka “at the mercy of terrorists.”  PM was addressing an election campaign rally in Chitradurga amid the 10 May Karnataka Assembly polls.

Referring to the 2008 Batla House encounter, in which two terrorists were shot dead by police in their rented home in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. In an apparent jab at Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, PM Modi claimed that she had “teary eyes” after learning of the terrorists’ deaths.

Congress questioned the nation’s military’ capability after the surgical attack and airstrike.

“You have observed how Congress had encouraged terrorism in Karnataka, which was then at the mercy of terrorists because of Congress. The BJP is responsible for breaking the back of terror and putting an end to the appeasement game, the prime minister said.

PM Modi “cautioned” the people of Karnataka against the Congress and JD(S), which are running for office separately, claiming that they are united by “their heart and deed.”

Assembly polls in Karnataka are scheduled to take place on 10 May and the counting of votes will be held on 13 May.
