New Delhi, 26 April Today’s Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam ending ceremony will feature a video speech from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) claims that the program’s origins can be traced to Prime Minister Modi’s goal of advancing the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat through programmes that highlight and aid in the rediscovery of long-established ties between people in various regions of the nation. The Kashi Tamil Sangamam was earlier organised with this in mind. The Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam advances this aim by highlighting the shared heritage and culture of Tamil Nadu and Gujarat.
From the Saurashtra region, numerous people came to Tamil Nadu centuries ago. According to the PMO statement, the Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam gave Saurashtrian Tamils a chance to get back in touch with their roots.
More than 3000 Saurashtrian Tamils arrived in Somnath for the 10-day confluence aboard a special train. The programme started on April 17 and will now end with a ceremony in Somnath on April 26.
