Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a rally in Mahasamund, Chhattisgarh, lauded the electorate for the first phase of voting on November 7, declaring it had burst the “balloon of lies” propagated by the Congress. He urged the people of Chhattisgarh not to trust the incumbent Congress party, emphasising that the first phase’s results had set the stage for the departure of the “Kakka” from the government, referring to a significant Congress leader.
PM Modi accused Congress of focusing on looting Chhattisgarh rather than its development. He highlighted the BJP’s commitment to the state’s welfare, citing the construction of 4 crore ‘pucca’ houses for the poor in the last decade. In contrast, he criticised the Congress government for obstructing projects like the ‘Gramin Awas Yojana’ meant for public welfare.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Chhattisgarh, created by the BJP, would only witness progress under the party’s governance. Urging the public to spread the word that Modi had reached Mahasamund, he reinforced the BJP’s sacred relationship with the people.
Chhattisgarh is holding elections in two stages, with the first ending on November 7. The remaining 70 seats will be voted for on November 17, with the results expected on December 3.
