PM Modi and Egyptian Prez discuss about the declining security and humanitarian situation in West Asia

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and discussed the region’s deteriorating security and humanitarian circumstances in West Asia.

After his telephonic conversation with Sisi, Modi said that “we share concerns regarding terrorism, violence and loss of civilian lives”.

Exchanged views on the deteriorating security and humanitarian situation in West Asia.” “We share concerns regarding terrorism, violence and loss of civilian lives. We agree on the need for early restoration of peace and stability and facilitating humanitarian assistance,” he said.

According to an Egyptian statement, President El-Sisi got a phone conversation from Prime Minister Modi, and the two leaders discussed the latest developments in Israel’s military operations in Gaza.

They also highlighted the significance of continuing the current escalation, given its devastating impact on civilian life and the threat it poses to regional security, according to the statement.

According to Egyptian Presidency Spokesman Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, President El-Sisi confirmed that Egypt is continuing its attempts to coordinate regional and international efforts to press for a ceasefire.

According to the statement, the president warned of the grave humanitarian and security consequences of a ground offensive in Gaza.

He emphasized the critical need for unified international action to find a quick diplomatic solution, which stipulates reinforcing an immediate humanitarian truce that protects civilian lives and allows the immediate, sustainable, and unfettered delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, in accordance with the UN General Assembly resolution in this regard, which was adopted on October 27, it said.

According to the statement, President El-Sisi and Prime Minister Modi expressed relief over the two nations’ exceptional bilateral relations and strategic collaboration.
