Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) observed a mass fast in front of Neelam Cinema in Sector 17 Plaza today in protest against the arrest of its national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
It was led by Dr. SS Ahluwalia, Chairman, Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board and co-in-charge, AAP, Chandigarh. In this fast, senior AAP leaders Prem Garg, Vijay Pal, Meena Sharma, Abha Bansal, Mayor Kuldeep Kumar, councillor Prem Lata, Yogesh Dhingra, Damanpreet Singh, Manowar, Jaswinder Kaur, Anju Katyal, Jasvir Singh Ladi, Suman Sharma, Neha Musawat, Poonam Kumari and Ramchandra Yadav and other senior leaders and hundreds of volunteers participated. On this occasion, a delegation of Chandigarh Sector 23 Market Association also participated in this mass fast and supported it.
This delegation included association president Manoj Bajaj, members Param Khukreja, Manmohan Singh and Amit Chopra. Speaking on this occasion, Mayor Kuldeep Kumar said that today the Constitution of the country is in danger, many examples of which have come before the people of the country in the past. BJP is trying to change the constitution. The truth of the murder of democracy by BJP in the Chandigarh Mayor elections has come out in front of everyone. He said that putting Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, elected by the people of Delhi, in jail without any evidence is another example of murder of democracy. The people of the country will never forgive BJP for this. The people of the country will definitely give an answer to BJP in the Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr. SS Ahluwalia said that BJP has created an atmosphere of fear in the entire country. Leaders of opposition parties are being implicated in false cases by various agencies and put in jail. The truth of the fake liquor scam in Delhi has recently come to light with the bail granted to senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh, when the ED could not prove anything in the court by keeping Sanjay Singh in jail for 6 months, due to which the Supreme Court granted bail to Sanjay Singh.
He said that Arvind Kejriwal has been sent to jail by BJP with the help of ED in a false case. The truth about P. Sarath Reddy, the government witness made by ED against Arvind Kejriwal, has come to light through the donation of Rs 60 crore given to BJP recently, how P. Sarath Reddy was earlier sent to jail by BJP with the help of ED. And later a deal is made with him and he is granted bail to testify against Arvind Kejriwal and a donation of Rs 60 crore is taken from him by BJP.
Dr. Ahluwalia said that the people of the country have now come to know about the dark deeds of BJP. In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the country, the public will vote against the BJP which has sent Arvind Kejriwal to jail, due to which BJP will be wiped out from the country. He further said that today all the cases have been closed against the leaders of opposition parties against whom BJP had accused them of corruption a few years ago, after their joining BJP, which has made it clear that BJP is trying to intimidate the leaders of opposition parties. He said that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi is afraid of anyone, it is Arvind Kejriwal and he will be out of jail in the coming days, because this is a false case.
