MP from Patiala, Praneet Kaur, held a meeting with the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, and discussed several demands related to Patiala.
One of the requests made was for the construction of a flyover near the new bus stand in Patiala to ensure the smooth flow of traffic. Additionally, she urged the reduction of toll charges for vehicles from Punjab for the sake of convenience.
In a statement released here, the Patiala MP said, ‘I had a meeting with the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to address certain demands related to Patiala. The primary demand is the construction of a new flyover near the new bus terminal on Rajpura Road to connect Sahind Bypass to Punjabi University for a more seamless flow of traffic.’
She further explained, ‘This particular section has witnessed significant traffic increase due to the construction of the new interstate bus terminal on Rajpura Road, resulting in the need for improvements at the NH-7 bypass junction. Moreover, to ease traffic congestion, the proposal includes connecting service roads of 7.00 meters in width along with the creation of a new underpass for vehicles going towards Urban Estate near Patiala.’Praneet Kaur also submitted a request letter to the Punjab Numbedar Union, emphasizing the need to reduce toll charges, as frequent movement between states is necessary.”
