Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has written a letter to Speaker Om Birla regarding the expunging of remarks and portions of his speech. He requested that these remarks be restored. “I am shocked by the manner in which a considerable portion of my speech has been removed from the proceedings under the guise of expunction. Removing my considered remarks from the records goes against the very tenets of parliamentary democracy,” he wrote. The Congress MP further talked about the Freedom of Speech enlisted in the Constitution.
