Panchkula Police on alert today, for peaceful Holi celebration

district police will remain on alert to ensure the peaceful celebration of the Holi festival in the district. No mischievous elements will be allowed to disrupt public order. Police will be deployed at every intersection of the city. Crackdowns will also be imposed on those who drink and drive.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Panchkula, Himadri Kaushik, wished the people of Panchkula a happy Holi and emphasized that the festival should be celebrated peacefully and with enthusiasm. She urged everyone to avoid consuming intoxicants during this festival and to adhere to traffic rules.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police stated that strict security arrangements have been made to maintain law and order and ensure public safety during the festival of Holi. To ensure security in the city, the police have established 40 special police checkpoints and deployed around 425 police personnel. Additionally, two separate mobile police units will patrol the area, and 25 police riders will continuously patrol different locations in the city.

PCR and Dial 112 Emergency Response Vehicles of the police will also be available to respond to any incidents promptly. The Deputy Commissioner of Police further mentioned that different police units have increased mobile patrolling in public places and emphasized that strict action will be taken against anyone engaging in rioting or causing disturbances.

Traffic police will also be present in public places, and those violating traffic rules will be issued challans under the Motor Vehicles Act. The Deputy Commissioner of Police reiterated the appeal for peaceful celebrations during Holi, emphasizing the importance of refraining from consuming intoxicants or engaging in any hooliganism. Strict security arrangements have been put in place, including traffic blocks, to ensure the smooth functioning of the city’s traffic system. Instructions have been given to PCR and riders to take immediate action against any traffic violations or instances of firecrackers being set off from bikes.

Additionally, all police station and police post in-charges have been instructed to patrol their respective areas and limit police duty during normal hours to crowded areas. Police riders and PCRs have also been deployed at main intersections to manage traffic and respond promptly to any disturbances reported through the police control room.
