Police have implemented strict security arrangements for Republic Day in the district, deploying 10 special police stations and approximately 450 police personnel. Providing information, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sumer Pratap Singh stated that stringent security measures have been put in place for Republic Day, including the establishment of 10 special police checkpoints. About 450 police personnel have been stationed at checkpoints and other locations in the Kalka and Panchkula areas. Additionally, 25 Quick Response Teams (QRTs) and 25 police riders will be deployed.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Panchkula, Sumer Pratap Singh mentioned that from 7 pm on January 25, 2024, to 12 noon on January 26, 2024, Section 144 has been imposed on unmanned aerial vehicles, such as drones, around Parade Ground Sector 05 Panchkula. If any person is found violating Section 144, legal action will be taken against them under Section 188 for violating the orders.
Due to the Republic Day program, traffic will be affected around Parade Ground Sector 05 from 6 am to 2 pm. In this regard, there is an appeal to the general public: individuals or vehicles heading towards the Parade Ground should avoid using the traffic lights of Sector 4/5, Hafed Chonk, Sector 7/8, and other traffic lights. Instead, use alternative routes.
