Pakistani devotees seek blessings at Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s Urs

On Monday, a group of 230 pilgrims from Pakistan arrived in India to participate in the 812th Urs (annual death anniversary) of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti at the Ajmer Dargah. All Pakistani pilgrims were escorted to Central Girls School with tight security arrangements made by the district administration.

Accommodations have been arranged for them there. As soon as the train carrying the Pakistani pilgrims arrived at Ajmer station, a large number of security personnel were seen actively ensuring the safe passage of Pakistani travellers from the platform to their designated area. During this time, some Pakistani pilgrims were also seen offering prayers on the platform.

Accompanying the pilgrims from Pakistan are officials and staff from the Pakistan Embassy in India, who will take care of the facilities for these devotees. It was reported that these pilgrims arrived in Ajmer from Amritsar on a special train. Pakistani pilgrims were on board six coaches of a special train arriving from Amritsar. Reasonable security arrangements have been made for the safety of the pilgrims.

Every year, citizens from Pakistan come to visit the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer to participate in the Urs. The officials from the Pakistani Embassy in India and the local administration take care of the arrangements for these devotees. It was reported that these pilgrims arrived late by nearly five hours due to issues such as currency exchange and other matters related to their scheduled program. However, upon reaching Ajmer, Pakistani citizens expressed their joy, stating that they felt a sense of peace after arriving in Ajmer. Several Pakistani pilgrims were visibly emotional upon reaching Ajmer.

Regarding the arrival of Pakistani citizens in Ajmer, the intelligence agencies and police administration had made stringent security arrangements at the station. Additionally, an entire platform was cleared for the pilgrims. After reaching the station, officials from the district administration counted all of them and then transported them by bus to their designated location at Central Girls School, where they were accommodated.

The Pakistani pilgrims will stay in Ajmer for the next five days, that is, until January 20. During this time, they will present offerings of flowers and velvet sheets at the shrine of Gharib Nawaz (Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti).
