The Telangana Police have launched an investigation into an incident where more than 20 stray dogs were found dead in a village in Mahabubnagar district. The incident occurred in Ponnakal village, Addakal mandal, late on Friday night, as reported by locals. Following the discovery, a group of animal activists filed a complaint with the police, alleging that masked individuals in a car had arrived after midnight and shot at the dogs, killing around 20 of them and injuring several others.
“We have lodged a complaint with the police officials regarding this incident,” stated Adulapuram Goutham, one of the animal activists involved. The police have confirmed receiving the complaint and have initiated an investigation. Further details on the matter are awaited.
