A woman constable of Rajasthan Police was injured after an unidentified assailant entered her government quarters in the Shastri Nagar area and attacked her with a sharp weapon. The incident took place on Wednesday when her husband and children were asleep, police said.
Constable Krishna, who is posted in the Nirbhaya Squad, sustained injuries on her neck and is undergoing treatment at a hospital. The police said that a case has been registered against an unidentified person in connection with the incident.
BJP MLA Anita Bhadel has criticised the state government for the incident of attack and assault of a female constable with a sharp weapon in the Shastri Nagar police station area of Jaipur. She said, “Even female police officers are not safe in the state. In such a situation, if the police themselves are not safe, how will the common woman be safe?” She said that in the upcoming elections, women will vote for the BJP and teach Congress a lesson.
Dr Alka Gurjar, the national minister of the Bharatiya Janata Party, has stated that law and order in the state has deteriorated under the rule of the Congress government. Due to the lax law and order in the state, even in areas considered safe, women are not safe. She said, “The situation of women living in remote areas of the state can be understood from this. While Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot claims that the law and order situation in the state is under control, the reality is that criminals are openly firing in public places in various parts of the state, while incidents like murders happen in broad daylight.”
