Mumbai Police has arrested one more person in connection with the pornographic films racket busted last week, taking the total number of those held in the case so far to nine. The Property Cell of Mumbai Crime Branch arrested the ninth accused, aged 40 years, from Surat, Gujarat, on Tuesday night. All the nine accused were produced before an honourable court by Property Cell officers.
Court sent Gehana Vasisth aka Vandana Tiwari, photographer Dipankar Khaas aka Shaan, and production team manager Tanveer Hashmi to a Crime Branch custody whereas rest of the five accused have been sent into judicial custody. Last week, the police’s Property Cell conducted a raid on a bungalow at Madh Island in Malwani area and busted a racket of making pornographic films with struggling models and actors and uploading them on social media apps and websites.
