Omar Abdullah accuses Central government, BJP of contesting against National Conference in J&K elections

In a fiery statement outside the office of the Returning Officer for Srinagar’s Parliamentary Constituency, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah asserted that various entities, including the Central Government, Raj Bhawan, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with its affiliates, are collectively challenging the National Conference (NC) in the ongoing elections in Jammu & Kashmir.

Omar Abdullah criticized the growing involvement of these institutions and parties against his party, highlighting recent announcements of support by the BJP for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). This, according to Abdullah, is indicative of a concerted effort to undermine the NC’s electoral prospects.

“From the Central Government to the Raj Bhawan, and the BJP, including its A, B, and C teams, everyone is contesting against the National Conference,” Omar Abdullah declared to reporters. He emphasized that historical elections have shown such adversarial tactics, but expressed confidence that the NC will prevail despite these challenges.“The candle of NC cannot be extinguished and will remain lit forever,” Abdullah affirmed, suggesting unwavering resilience in the face of what he termed as “ill-machinations” by adversaries.
Omar Abdullah predicted that these institutions and elements aligning against his party would face significant setbacks in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, indicating a firm resolve to counter the mounting opposition.

The unfolding electoral landscape in Jammu & Kashmir continues to be marked by intense political maneuvering and competing interests, setting the stage for a closely watched and fiercely contested electoral battle.
