Seven-day special NSS (Day/Night) Camp organized by NSS Open Unit, UT Chandigarh, was successfully concluded at Govt. Model High School (RC-II), Dhanas. The valedictory function was graced by Sh. Vineet Joshi, Chairman of Joshi Foundation, as the Chief Guest, joined by Dr. Arun Bansal, Admin, Social Substance, and Smt. Ravinder Kaur, Principal GMHS (RC-II) at Dhanas.
Sh. Vineet Joshi congratulated the NSS Programme Officer for leading the cause of selfless community services in Dhanas and motivated NSS volunteers. He also narrated the life sketch of Lord Ram to NSS volunteers and emphasized adopting their character for the betterment of our society. Dr. Arun Bansal encouraged volunteers to carry forward the cause and become role models in society. Distinguished guests felicitated trophies and medals to the best NSS volunteers.
Unit Coordinator Ms. Ritika Verma mentioned that 45 NSS Volunteers from NSS Open Unit conducted activities such as Swachata Abhiyan, Self Defence by Chandigarh Police, Nukkad Natak, Mass rallies, etc., for community and skill development of NSS volunteers. Mr. Abhi Thakur coordinated the camp very well, she added.
On behalf of the Open Unit, NSS Programme Officer Er. Binesh Bhatia thanked all stakeholders, school administration, and State NSS Cell for all support and continuous encouragement. He assured to lead the NSS motto “Not ME But YOU” for the greater interest of society. In the end, Smt. Ravinder Kaur proposed a Vote of Thanks to the guests and NSS Open Unit for conducting this meaningful camp in the village and adopting their school for this noble cause.
