According to the notification, an election will be conducted to elect a member to the House of the People in the 2-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency. Nomination papers can be submitted by candidates or their representatives to the Returning Officer (Deputy Commissioner Srinagar), 2-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency, or the Additional Deputy Commissioner (M) at DC Office Srinagar, Amar Niwas Complex, between 11:00 am and 03:00 pm on any day (except Public Holiday) but no later than April 25, 2024 (Thursday). The notification further states that nomination papers will undergo scrutiny at the RO Office 2-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency (DC Office Srinagar, Amar Niwas Complex) on April 26, 2024 (Friday) at 10:30 am.
Candidates have the option to withdraw their candidature, with notice of withdrawal to be submitted by the candidate, their representatives, or the authorized election agent before 03:00 pm on April 29, 2024 (Monday). In the event that the election is contested, polling will take place on May 13, 2024 (Monday) between 07:00 am and 6:00 pm. The issuance of this notification marks a crucial step in the electoral process for the Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency, setting forth the timeline and procedures for candidate nominations, scrutiny, and eventual polling.
