NIA, CBI conduct raids against FCI officials and gangsters

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted raids against gangsters in North and Central India including Punjab. This action is being taken by the NIA in a total of 8 States against smuggling of illegal weapons, in which 72 places have been raided simultaneously. At present, NIA raided 30 places in Punjab.
Even before this raid, NIA has taken action against the gangster syndicate twice. This raid is against the movement of illegal weapons in the country. This is the reason that apart from Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, NIA has also reached UP and Madhya Pradesh this time. From where the weapons further reach the gangsters.
The NIA has raided the hideouts of gangster Lawrence and Goldie Brar, apart from Lakhbir Landa, who is spreading terror in Canada, in Punjab. A few days ago, Lakhbir Landa was declared a terrorist by the NIA and his close relatives were constantly being monitored. After which the NIA has raided Tarn Taran, Ferozepur and some cities of Malwa.
NIA teams have reached Giddarbaha based Kingra Farms in Punjab for investigation. On the other hand, the team raided the house of gangster Rummy in Bathinda.
Along with Punjab, raids have been conducted by the NIA in Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi-NCR, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. In fact, last year the NIA registered a case against the syndicate formed by the gangsters. After which NIA has raided about 3 times in the states of North India.
After the NIA in Punjab, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has raided more than 30 locations. The raids were conducted at the offices of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) as well as at the premises of private officials, rice mill owners
and grain traders.
According to the information received, CBI teams have taken action on Tuesday morning at 30 places including Rajpura, Patiala, Sirhind, Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali, Sonam, Moga, Ferozepur, Ludhiana and Sangrur in Punjab. This action has been taken at FCI offices, high officials, godowns besides private shellers and grain traders. During this time CBI is engaged in the investigation of all the papers related
to horse trading.
In January, the central investigating agency recovered Rs 1.03 crore (approx), including in further searches conducted at around 39 locations at Rup Nagar, Sangrur, Morinda, Bassi Pathana Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali, Gurdaspur, Barnala, Mansa, Bathinda, Sunam, Budlada, Mohali (all in Punjab); Ambala, Gurugram (in Haryana); Kolar, Chikkabalapur (in Karnataka); Chennai (Tamil Nadu),
New Delhi, and Chandigarh.
