In the drug racket case, the newly formed SIT (Special Investigation Team) questioned Shiromani Akali Dal’s Secretary Bikram Singh Majithia for seven hours on Tuesday. Majithia visited the police lines at 11:30 am and returned at 6:30 pm. The new SIT, headed by D.I.G. Harcharan Singh Bhullar, S.S.P. Varun Sharma, and S.P. Yogesh Sharma, interrogated Majithia about his involvement with individuals arrested or sentenced in the drug racket case. Questions were raised about those who were arrested by the police or had received punishment in this case.
So far, no information had been disclosed about the aspects that were previously unknown. The SIT has been actively working on this case for several days. Regarding this, a meeting was held with top officials of the SIT in Chandigarh. Bikram Majithia responded to the SIT’s questions. Now, the focus will be on what the SIT includes in its final report or whether Bikram Majithia will be summoned again.
On Tuesday, during Bikram Majithia’s appearance, senior leaders of the Shiromani Akali Dal, including former minister Surjit Singh Rakhra, N.K. Sharma, the treasurer of the Akali Dal, Raju Khanna, constituency in-charge of Amloh, Jaspal Singh Bittu Chatha, constituency in-charge of Patiala Rural, Amarinder Bajaj, constituency in-charge of Patiala Urban, Harinderpal Chandu Majra, constituency in-charge of Sanour, Bhupinder Shekhupur, constituency in-charge of Ghanaur, and Charanjit Barad, constituency in-charge of Rajpura, were present at the venue.
