Netflix’s hit series ‘Stranger Things’ to get an animated version

For the fans of Netflix’s hit series ‘Stranger Things’ is a good news as the series’ universe is expanding!

For those unversed, let us tell you, Netflix announced an untitled animated series set in the ‘Stranger Things’ universe on Monday. ‘Stranger Things’ is the most popular English-language series on Netflix all time.

The plot details for the series are being kept under wraps, according to the Hollywood Reporter. ‘Stranger Things’ creators Matt and Ross Duffer, however, stated that it would be in the style of “Saturday morning cartoons.”

The Duffer brothers will executive produce the series alongside Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen of 21 Laps, their ‘Stranger Things’ collaborators.

In a statement, Matt and Ross Duffer revealed that “We’ve always dreamt of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving, and to see this dream realized has been absolutely thrilling.”

The two further added, “We couldn’t be more blown away by what Eric Robles and his team have come up with — the scripts and artwork are incredible, and we can’t wait to share more with you! The adventure continues.”

The animated series is the latest ‘Stranger Things’ spinoff from the Duffer brothers’ Upside Down Pictures banner, which is based on a lucrative overall deal with Netflix. Aside from the upcoming fifth and final season of the original series, the siblings recently announced Stranger Things: The First Shadow, a London stage show, and another untitled live-action spinoff of the flagship series in the works.
